LAM TONES WINS AWARD AT HUNGARIAN MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS
The LAM Tones initiative showcases the organic connection between music and visual arts through a series that introduces viewers to another dimension of perception. The 10-15 minute intimate live sessions, recorded without an audience, range in genre from concerts to music videos. Each production is a joint intellectual product of the museum, the bands, and the video production companies, in which the participants are equal partners, representing progressive ideas and an experimental approach within their respective genres.
The series opens with a refined, music video-like film by the internationally successful fusion jazz hip-hop trio Jazzbois and 235 Production. The rest of the series features the “progressively classic hip-hop group Slow Village and PUR E’s spontaneous and raw vision, which is very strong in visual storytelling, providing a 360-degree view.
IamYank’s 8.5-minute electronic piece was inspired by the artwork on display in the exhibition, recorded by Zsuzsanna Simon and Benedek Bodnár in a unique, highly sensitive style. The closing piece of this season is Dj Bootsie’s monumental undertaking, a piece from Bartokosmos, which consists of individually recomposed transcriptions of works selected by composer Bootsie.
The four episodes can be viewed on our YouTube channel.
LAM BUDAPEST LAUNCHES A SPECIAL MUSIC SERIES ENTITLED LAM TONES
The contemporary art institution together with selected musicians and production companies has created a unique format in Hungary, in which film teams co-produce videos inspired by the music and the location. It is also an initiative that shows the organic relationship between music and visual arts through a series that introduces viewers to another dimension of perception.

The 10-15 minute intimate live sessions, filmed without an audience, are all or part of a series of specially created for this project and range in genre from concert to video clip. Each production is a joint brainchild of the museum, the bands and the video production companies, in which all participants are equal partners, representing progressiveness and experimentation in their own genres.

The series opens with a sophisticated, video-clip-like final film by the internationally increasingly successful fusion jazz hip-hop trio Jazzbois and 235 Productions.

The series will be followed by Slow Village, a “progressively classic” hip-hop act, and PUR E, a strong visual storytelling act, with their spontaneous and raw 360-degree vision. IamYank’s 8.5-minute electronic music was inspired by the artwork in the exhibition, recorded by Zsuzsanna Simon and Benedek Bodnár in a unique and highly sensitive style. This season’s closing piece is Dj Bootsie’s monumental undertaking, a piece from Bartokosmos, which consists of individually recomposed transcriptions of works selected by the composer Bootsie.
SUPERLUMINAL OPENING
Our second exhibition, Superluminal, opened on the 14th of September. We produced a short video of the press tour and the vernissage.
CATALOGUE OF THE PREVIOUS EXHIBITION
Our debut exhibition, Light Revolution, was open until mid-August. The exhibition included iconic works from the modernist period that defined the 20th century, as well as works by middle-generation and young artists. The selection is accompanied by an informative catalogue, available for purchase at our museum shop.
BEHIND THE SCENES
For the Superluminal exhibition, not only did we fill the exhibition space with new works, but we also expanded its size by hundreds of square meters, and built a LED wall with a diagonal of several meters and excellent image quality.
