Light installation
The 24 LED projectors mounted on the installation are controlled by a special circuit. The lights flashing every second illuminate the objects in front of them and the resulting 24 unique images create a film-like sequence as a result of the afterimage effect.
The 24 frames per second, which form the basis of the film, fall to pieces in time and space, creating a seemingly random but deliberately clumsy and anachronistic post-digital movie projector. This projector, however, does not take advantage but thematises the limits of human perception and is a playful reference to media history (spanning from Eadweard Muybridge’s photographic series depicting phases of movement to today’s clumsy GIF-animations).
